Barrack Medical/Healthcare Network

Consisting of Barrack alumni, parents, and community members, the Medical/Healthcare Network is dedicated to creating networking and professional development opportunities for members along with providing guidance and support for students interested in pursuing medical and healthcare-related careers.
Using the expertise of our Barrack community, the Medical/Healthcare Network works to bring speakers in the medical/healthcare fields to campus, help place students in internships and service learning, and mentors students as they pursue a college major and a future career in the medical field.
The Barrack Medical/Healthcare Network also raises money to support the school in related activities and facilities improvements including updating and providing new equipment for the middle and upper schools science labs, providing mental health awareness and education programs, and hosting guest speaker series on issues around adolescence for parents of middle school students and parents.

Lunch & Learns
These events provide opportunities for students who are interested in medicine to attend and discuss current topics in the field with medical professionals.

Innovations in Medicine Event
In our "Innovations in Medicine" program, students were able to rotate among 10 different stations to explore and experiment with some of the latest medical devices and equipment with the careful guidance of skilled medical professionals from throughout the community. We also enjoyed inspiring remarks from our esteemed keynote speaker, Dr. Amy Goldberg, the Marjorie Joy Katz Dean of the Lewis Katz Medical School at Temple University, who shared about her background and career path in trauma surgery, exciting medical innovations during her lifetime, and the ways her Jewish faith inspires and informs her medical practice.
