New Leadership at Barrack
Dr. Steven M. Brown’s tenure as Head of School ended on June 30, 2011 to permit him to pursue other personal and professional goals,” shares Ariele Zandman Klausner ’76, Barrack Board President. “Although we regret that Dr. Brown’s tenure as Head of School has come to an end, we are grateful to him for his many contributions to Barrack and offer our sincere thanks for his wisdom and leadership in helping to navigate our school though a challenging and exciting period in our history. We are happy that Dr. Brown has generously offered to be available to us on an as-needed basis during this period of transition as we search for a new Head of School.”
While Barrack’s Board of Directors actively searches for the next Head of School, Sharon P. Levin, Barrack’s Academic Dean, has been named interim Head of School. An outstanding educator with 25 years experience at Akiba- Barrack, Mrs. Levin will work closely with Christine Farrell, Barrack’s Dean of Students and Middle School Coordinator, to lead the school during this transition. “We are truly fortunate to have such exceptional and well-respected educators available to provide leadership during this period,” adds Mrs. Klausner. “The Board has full confidence that they, together with our dedicated faculty and staff, will assure a smooth transition and spearhead another successful academic year.
