Anael Brodski writing for the Middle School Girl’s Tennis team.

October 9, 2018

After a tough match last week against Shipley, the girls were well prepared and ready to get back on their feet this week. It was a very hot day, but the girls showed nothing short of determination and concentration. We played Notre Dame this week. Eliana Pasternak did an astonishing job of playing first singles and winning 8-5. Although the rest of the girls lost, they all did an extraordinary job, especially on this humid and very sunny afternoon. Anael Brodski played second singles, hitting strong volleys and always hitting the ball back with forceful backhands, closing with a score of 2-8. Tal Tzbarr, playing third singles came very close to winning with her great ball-tracking and serving skills, coming to a final of 5-8. Jackie Torikashvili and Nicole Epelboim played first doubles today, losing 1-8. Their incredible teamwork helped them build up strength and ability to get great rallies between them and the other team. Finally, we had Lily Wolnek and Margot Englander playing second doubles. Having just started playing tennis this year, these two girls did an outstanding job. They worked very hard and ended with the magnificent score of 3-8. Unfortunately, Izzy Greenberg sprained her ankle and was unable to play with us this week. We hope for a quick recovery and we are so excited to hopefully see her back with us again next week when we play Shipley again. Everyone played marvelously today and we are eager for our next match on Thursday, October 18 next week. Let’s go Barrack Cougars!!
