Barrack vs. Mercy Tech

LOSE 10-25

Away game at Mercy Vocational - Softball Get Directions

It was a rough afternoon for the young Barrack Cougars Varsity Softball team as the fell to the Mercy Tech team on Thursday, 25-10.

The offense continued to be a bright spot for the Cougars.  Talia Raikin led the team with three hits on the day while Dayna Fegler collected two including a triple.
Unfortunately, the team made many mistakes in the field and gave the Mercy team too many "extra chances" and it wound up costing Barrack.
Cougars Head Coach Bill Mattis talked about the game.  "We win as a team, but we also lose as a team.  It wasn't any one player's fault today and frankly, it never is.  But we do need to play a much better overall brand of ball to compete in this league for a championship.  I do feel like we have made progress but we still have a long way to go."
One Cougar played had an outstanding defensive game and that was Ruthie Meles.  Meles made multiple great plays at third base and has continued to show great strides of improvement at the position all season.
The Cougars have three games left against some very tough competition.  They have a re-match with Perkiomen (at home) and then also play a "home and away" against Renaissance.
The squad will have to be playing their best to come away with a win against those two schools
