Affiliations and Traditions

Barrack competes in the Friends School League, a premier athletic league in southeastern Pennsylvania. Membership in the FSL provides our student-athletes with top-flight competition, limited travel to away games, and alignment with schools of similar academic profiles and values.

Barrack is also a member of the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association (PAISAA), which is made up of schools from the FSL, Inter-Ac, and other leagues. PAISAA hosts state championships in 21 sports. Most recently, Barrack teams have competed in the boys tennis State Championship tournament as well as the girls basketball and boys lacrosse Commonwealth Cup tournaments. 

In addition to playing FSL and PAISAA competition, our Cougar teams enjoy unique rivalries with other Jewish day schools in Pennsylvania and beyond.

Our doubleheader soccer and basketball games against Kohelet Yeshiva, as well as matchups with The Mesivta High School of Greater Philadelphia, draw spectators from all over the Philadelphia Jewish community to Barrack's campus. In addition to local competitive pairings, Barrack maintains annual dates with other mid-Atlantic Jewish day schools including Golda Och Academy (NJ), Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School (MD), and Jewish day school tournaments.
