Tuition Assistance

2018-2019 School Year

 

Effective December 1, 2017, the 2018-19 Tuition Assistance application process will begin. Barrack will continue to use FACTS Management’s Grant & Aid Assessment to perform the financial aid analysis for all families applying. In order to apply for tuition assistance you must complete the FACTS application online. The deadline for completing the FACTS Tuition Assistance application and submitting all necessary supporting documents is February 20, 2018.

Applications are not complete until all the following documents are received by FACTS Management:

  • Copy of 2016 Federal Tax Forms including all supporting tax schedules, W-2’s and 1099’s
  • Copy of 2017 W-2’s and 1099’s (available after January 31, 2018)
  • Copy of supporting documents for Social Security Income, Welfare, Child Support, Food Stamps, Workers’ Compensation and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Program (if applicable)
  • IRS Form 4506-T: Request for Transcript of Tax Return

Supporting documents can be sent to FACTS in any of the following ways:

  1. Uploaded in pdf format online (preferable)
  2. Mailed to:

Please be sure to include the Applicant ID on all uploaded or mailed correspondence.

In addition to our own scholarship funds, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia has formed the Foundation for Jewish Day Schools, through which it distributes funds from Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs. The International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc. (ISTS) processes all the EITC/OSTC applications for the Foundation. If you qualify for EITC/OSTC, you must complete this application. The JBHA Tuition Adjustment Committee may modify or withdraw your financial aid award if you do not apply for this additional scholarship.

Please note:

  1. Your 2017 Tax Documents are required: ISTS will no longer be accepting previous year tax information
  2. The deadline for completing the ISTS application is April 23, 2018.
  3. First time families will be asked for a Program Key. The Program Key is: FJDS

The tuition aid determination process will begin at the end of March 2018 and notifications will be sent to families shortly thereafter.
