Application Process

We are delighted that you are considering Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy for your child.

The application process begins when you complete the parent portion of the online application. You may check the status of your child’s application at any time by contacting the admissions office at 610.922.2350 or admissions@jbha.org if you have any questions.

Here are the steps to apply:

Application

Applications are currently open for the 2025-26 year. You will be prompted to create a parent account and New Student Application for your child. You will then have the flexibility to access your account, complete, or make changes to your open application at your convenience. If you have more than one child applying, please complete a separate application for each child.

Once your application is complete, you will be prompted to submit the non-refundable $75 application fee. You will receive a confirmation that your application has been processed.

Applications are considered individually with a suggested submission date by January 21, 2025. Completed applications will start to be reviewed beginning on November 1, 2024 on a rolling basis.

Letters of Recommendation

Please submit contact information of current teachers who can provide recommendations for your child as detailed below. If your child attends a Jewish Day School, please submit the name of a Judaic Studies/Hebrew teacher for the "Teacher of choice" recommendation.

Your child’s current teachers will automatically receive the electronic recommendation form when you submit the application online. Recommendations are sent directly to the Admissions Office.

Middle School Applicants

Please submit the names and emails of three (3) current teacher recommendations including:

Math
English
Teacher of choice (Judaic Studies/Hebrew teacher for students who attend Jewish Day School)

Upper School Applicants

Please submit the names and emails of four (4) current teacher recommendations including:

Math
English
Science
Teacher of choice (Judaic Studies/Hebrew teacher for students who attend Jewish Day School)

Transcript

Visits

As part of our application process, students will spend a full day at Barrack. During the on-campus visit, they will be paired with a host student, attend classes, and meet their future peers and teachers. A visit also creates the time to meet one-on-one with the Director of Admissions, which helps us get to know your family and gives you a chance to ask questions!

Please note that a visit day, interviews, and completion of a brief writing sample are required steps in our application process.

Admissions Decision

Completed applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis once we have received all required information. Those applying after the January deadline are considered on a space-available basis.

A committee comprised of school administrators along with the admission team meets to review applications to both the middle school and upper school. Consideration for admission is based upon a number of factors that include the application, the interview, transcripts, and recommendations.

A completed online enrollment packet and an enrollment deposit are required to reserve a student's place for the following academic year at Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy. The enrollment deposit is non-refundable and is applied toward the final tuition payment of the year.
