Please have the email addresses of your child's teacher references handy.
For incoming middle school students, we require two letters of recommendation from your child's teachers: one in math and one in English, with an optional third letter of recommendation from a teacher of your choice. For those entering our upper school, you’ll need three letters of recommendation from your child’s teachers: one in math, one in English, and another in a subject of your choice. Your child’s current teachers will automatically receive our electronic recommendation form when you submit the application online, and they will submit it back to us through the same system.
Please download and print the records release form within the application. Once signed and completed, please give the form to your child's current school so they can send their most up-to-date transcripts. If you are unable to print the form, please download it here.
As part of our application process, students spend a full school day on campus. During their visit, they will be paired with a host student, sit in on classes, meet their peers and teachers, and tour the school. Student interviews, including a brief writing sample, are completed that day.

Applications are evaluated individually by the Admissions Committee after the application deadline on January 17, 2020. Students are considered for admission to Barrack based on evidence of their desire to enter a dual college preparatory/Judaic studies program and their potential for success here. Families will be notified of the Admissions Committee’s decision by March 1, 2020.
Applications submitted after the January deadline are reviewed on a rolling, space-available basis.
Upon acceptance, families must promptly reply and return the enrollment contract along with an enrollment deposit to reserve their student's place at Barrack. Enrollment contracts are due two weeks after an offer has been sent. This deposit is non-refundable and is applied toward the final tuition payment of the year.
