We’re glad you’re interested in Barrack! Please be in touch at any time during the admissions process.
Here are the steps to apply:
- Letters of Recommendation
- Admissions Testing
- Visits and Interviews
- Admissions Decision
Click here to begin your application through RenWeb/FACTS. You will be prompted to create a parent account. If you are a current parent, you can use your existing login. You can review your application at any time. Your application will only be processed after you click the submit button and pay the non-refundable $75 application fee.
Please have the email addresses of your child's teacher references handy.
For incoming middle school students, we require two letters of recommendation from your child's teachers: one in math and one in English, with an optional third letter of recommendation from a teacher of your choice. For those entering our upper school, you’ll need three letters of recommendation from your child’s teachers: one in math, one in English, and another in a subject of your choice. Your child’s current teachers will automatically receive our electronic recommendation form when you submit the application online, and they will submit it back to us through the same system.
Please download and print the records release form within the application. Once signed and completed, please give the form to your child's current school so they can send their most up-to-date transcripts. If you are unable to print the form, please download it here.
All incoming students must take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE), which is administered at Barrack from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm on the following dates:
- November 17, 2019
- December 15, 2019
- January 12, 2020
Students may also take the ISEE at another location and have the test results sent to Barrack.
Our Admissions Committee will also consider scores from the ERB, PSSA, SSAT, or PSAT exams or private psychological testing. Please check with your school to see if these have been administered.
Please email us with any questions about signing up for the ISEE at email@example.com.
As part of our application process, students spend a full school day on campus. During their visit, they will be paired with a host student, sit in on classes, meet their peers and teachers, and tour the school. Student interviews, including a brief writing sample, are completed that day.
Parents are required to come for a personal interview and tour. Learn more about visiting us.
Applications are evaluated individually by the Admissions Committee after the application deadline on January 17, 2020. Students are considered for admission to Barrack based on evidence of their desire to enter a dual college preparatory/Judaic studies program and their potential for success here. Families will be notified of the Admissions Committee’s decision by March 1, 2020.
Applications submitted after the January deadline are reviewed on a rolling, space-available basis.
Upon acceptance, families must promptly reply and return the enrollment contract along with an enrollment deposit to reserve their student's place at Barrack. Enrollment contracts are due two weeks after an offer has been sent. This deposit is non-refundable and is applied toward the final tuition payment of the year.
