At Barrack Hebrew Academy, we challenge our students to determine their goals and then reach out and grasp them. Our students are taught to become autonomous thinkers, to apply their intellect and the tools of technology to make sense of a world inundated with new sources of information.
As Barrack students learn, they are challenged by a rigorous curriculum of mathematics, humanities and sciences, including a full range of Advanced Placement courses that provide thorough preparation for college. Our college preparatory courses are complemented by an enriching Jewish Studies curriculum.
As Barrack students grow, they are mentored and supported by talented and caring faculty and by counselors and administrators who work in concert to help each student achieve his or her full potential.
The password protected Parent Portal allows a parent to log on anytime from anywhere there is an internet connection to view information about his/her child's academic progress in each of his/her classes. Through mivrakim (messages) that are posted on the Parent Portal, teachers comment on students' positive and negative academic performance on assessments. In addition, the Parent Portal is the only place where students’ trimester progress reports are posted. Both progress reports and mivrakim are downloadable and printable. Each student's Barrack advisor reviews these postings frequently so that they are able to remain informed about their advisees. By using the Parent Portal, parents become partners in their child’s education.
“Barrack teachers encourage us to question, to think for ourselves. They care about our opinions and inspire us to think creatively, shaping our lives, our values and our actions.”
