Guidance counseling at Barrack is designed to promote wellness and help our young adults develop the mindset, knowledge, insight, and skills needed to promote wellness and make judicious decisions. Our professional guidance counselors—dedicated specifically for middle school or for upper school students only—work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and administrators to support our students’ emotional, behavioral, intellectual, and social development.
Our counselors offer:
- A safe place for students to speak in confidence individually or in groups, as well as in conflict-mediation meetings
- Support to new students and families adjusting to life at Barrack
- Division-wide and school-wide programming for students and parents promoting health, wellness, positive coping skills, and self-actualization
- Referrals to outside agencies and professionals
