Abbe Dembowitz '11 "Turns it Around"

Abbe Dembowitz '11 was the guest speaker at the Women's Empowerment Club, to discuss her "Turn It Around Project." The Turn It Around Project was an idea hatched from her knowledge of the generation's response to social media and her method of improving her own thoughts: turning them around. Through photographic expression participants provide positive affirmations to negative thoughts while committing to change. Our Lunch and Learns allow students to discuss topics in an intimate setting outside the classroom and truly explore real life challenges with the guidance of faculty and many times our alumni.

"I really admired my teachers here [ At Akiba] so to have the opportunity to come back and inspire other students in some way, if nothing else, just to help others is really meaningful to me." We are so grateful when our alumni return to campus to work with our students.

Abbe will graduate from Georgetown Law in 2020 and is currently the editor in-chief of the American Criminal Law Review.
