When things go wrong in the economy, we expect THE GOVERNMENT to fix it. What can the government really do? And how can it do it? How much control does/should the government have in the financial lives of Americans? We will learn about the business cycle, and the tools that the government uses to address unemployment, inflation, and other economic problems. We will learn about the Federal Reserve and the federal budget, as well as other ways the government plays a role in our economic lives, including with anti-trust regulation and responses to poverty. We will also keep tabs on current government actions and discuss them.
