Dear Barrack Community,
As you are aware, we have been monitoring the current health situation and have been in constant contact with the Montgomery and Delaware Counties and Pennsylvania State Departments of Health.
Governor Tom Wolf has declared a state of emergency in Pennsylvania, and has ordered a shutdown of all schools in Montgomery County. Although Barrack is located in Delaware County, we have decided that in order to protect the health of our students, staff and community, Barrack will be CLOSED as of tomorrow, Friday, March 13. No school, athletic or other extra-curricular activities will take place until further notice.
Tomorrow, Friday, March 13 will be a day off for Barrack students and staff.
Monday and Tuesday, March 16 and 17, will be time for our teachers to complete distance learning preparation and will be treated as “snow days” for our students. Please remind your student(s) that any assignments or homework due during this time will be expected to be completed and submitted on Canvas.
On Wednesday, March 18, the Barrack distance learning program will begin. Students will be given additional information about the schedule of classes prior to Wednesday morning. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org should any technical issues arise. Please encourage your children to check emails frequently each day for updates.
Although at present there are NO positive cases of coronavirus in our school community, it is critical that throughout this period you continue to be in touch with our school nurse, Maria Cecchine, email@example.com regarding suspected and confirmed cases of COVID-19 in your family.
As we begin to navigate these unchartered waters together, we appreciate your patience and flexibility. We ask for your help in articulating and modeling our Derech Eretz values for our children. Thank you.
Sharon, Darin, and Chris
