"Barrack Hebrew Academy students all come from different religious backgrounds and different levels of observance.  They learn to share their views and respect those of others."

Jewish Life

Entering Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy brings you to a world of comfort and sophistication. Students and faculty live in Jewish and Western civilizations as they form the intellectual and cultural atmosphere of the school. At Barrack Hebrew Academy there is the comfort of knowledge and mutual respect that allows for such exploration and critical examination.

Under the tutelage of competent, scholarly teachers representing a variety of Jewish intellectual persuasions and practices, students from a variety of backgrounds engage in exploration of ideas, tradition, innovation within the Jewish world, and as they interact with the larger cultures in which they are/have been situated.

Barrack Hebrew Academy does not represent only one branch of Jewish life or thought; Barrack Hebrew Academy is host to all branches. Its culture is one of intellectual inquiry and of respect for the various expressions of Jewish life and texts. Within her halls students learn the kaleidoscopic responses evolved over centuries by Jewish communities to the texts and history that form the body and soul of Jewish civilization, and to respect the groups within the Jewish world that adhere to these various views. Students from the gamut of intellectual and ritual backgrounds learn to articulate their own and respect each others' stances.

Open minds and viewpoints are arrived at through lively inquiry.
A lovely model for the world.

Barrack Hebrew Academy also creates strong bonds to Israel and agrees with Avi Chai: "The creation of the State of Israel is one of the seminal events in Jewish history. Recognizing the significance of the State and its national institutions, we seek to instill in our students an attachment to the State of Israel and its people, as well as a sense of responsibility for their welfare."
