Coach Gillio and Coach McGinness report:
It is our pleasure to nominate Ari Bogom-Shanon for student athlete of the week. Ari had an explosive week at the plate. She started off the week with a 2 RBI home run at Perkiomen. Against Westmont, facing the toughest pitching of the season, Ari went 3 for 3, with 2 triples and a home run. Ari ended the week with a 3 run homer against Renaissance.
Defensively, Ari has really stepped up to the plate this year. After being the starting catcher for the past two seasons, Ari was moved to third base. Though reluctant and unsure of her ability at the new position, Ari experienced early season jitters. For the second half of the season, Ari has embraced the change and has caught every ball (foul or fair) that has come down the third base line.
Ari is also the co-captain of the softball team. She encourages her teammates on and off the field and motivates them at practice. Congratulations to Ari and the rest of the Lady Cougars softball team. Good luck in the playoffs!
