In Barrack's first home cross-country meet of the season and Barrack first School Sorts Spirit Day, the Barrack Cougars shone! Running against the team from Girard College, team captains Ezra Solway and David Kolansky led the way finishing 1-2, with times of 18:45 (1st) and 19:16 (2nd). Junior Toviah Botwinik finished strongly in 3rd place with a time of 19:59. The Girard boys then finished behind Toviah. Sarah Wolfson led the way for the girls, finishing 13th overall with a time of 23:36, followed by Marnie Landau (26:19) in 17th place. Overall, it was an outstanding meet for the Cougars, and the Barrack community was proud to host its XC meet on campus," reports Coach Jeff Mowery. "Thanks to the faculty for all of the help and to Barrack parents and students who cheered for the home team and participated in Barrack's First School Sports Spirit Day," adds Kim Gillio, Barrack's Athletic Director.
In the Cougar's third meet of the season, Captains David Kolansky and Ezra Solway continued their success, finishing 4th and 6th respectively at Phelps. Amidst the rain, Sarah Wolfson won the meet on the girls' side in a dominating performance. Jake Rosen and Mati Zeff both had great races and improved tremendously.
