From the time you
pick up your first textbook
to sharing memories with friends,
school is significant to you.
When school life takes a
turn for the worst, making a
decision to open that door comes to mind.
The door comes to be more of a
consideration as classmates become ruder
and teachers more frustrating.
Opening the door and passing through
may result in much more happiness
but passing through might make things worse and
opening the door is a most difficult task.
Matt
My door starts in the mind of a human
It takes a while to process
You start young and work your way up
In that process, it’s easy but it gets harder
You have fun and a lot of recreational time
You then get to the age when results are important
You go through the door
You start revising and start a lot of preparation
You get very stressed and you aren’t sure if you’ll make it
You don’t take the risk
It may cost you heavily, or it may not
In the end you don’t know what the outcome will be
Michael
Either you will go
through the door,
or you will not.
Go ahead,
go through the door.
Your friends are!
Don’t you want to?
If you go through the
door, you’ll be cool.
Don’t worry, no one
will find out.
If you don’t go
through you may still
have friends.
Think, think hard. Are
you going to risk what
you already have?
For what?!
Is this really the right door for you?
Mira
You see the chance
The door
You could turn the know and open it
Or you could not
Your friends are on one side
What you want is slowly crossing to the other
But can you follow it?
Everyone has said no
Don’t do it
We don’t like it
But you want it
Choose to do it, and you’re happy
But your friends…
Will you lose them?
Will they hate you?
Can you be yourself?
You could stay
And forever keep wishing
Wondering what would have happened
Or you could go
Take a chance
Follow you dreams
The choice is yours
The door is waiting
Molly
The door to friendship
Is a very confusing one, at best
Should you shake off your personality and beliefs,
Like shaking rain off an umbrella
Or should you be yourself,
But risk being accepted by others
If you decide to go through the door,
Onto the “popular” side,
Will you become so engrossed that you forget
Who you once were?
Or remain as you are
A conscience free from lies
Staying true to yourself, your family
But will you be lacking in experiences
That only come with many friends
You must decide which door
To enter
Remain the lonely
Or
Begin to believe your own lies
Why must the choice be black or white
When remaining in limbo would be so simple
What to do?
The choice is up
To you
Natalie
The door marks the passageway-
A child to a woman.
With heart slamming and hands shaking,
Barely able to turn the knob.
But temptation takes hold, and the door opens wide,
As emotions run free and lips collide.
Ushering in those at the door,
And the slow realization of happiness.
Flying through the door, letting go.
Knowing that the right decision was made.
Noah
You struggle with the decision
Do you go through the door
A new life, new people, new things
The opportunity for the education
It’s so easy to go through
You aren’t the one paying
If you go to this college
You would never want to come back
It would be so much fun
You have gone through 12 years of education
You believe it is enough
You’re done learning for now
What do you do
The opportunity is waiting
Yet, it’s the door that you can open
Sivan
To go through
Or not to go though
That is only your choice
To choose to be friends
With people you like
Or to make the decision
To pretend to be someone else
To be popular
Going through
Will make you
The person other people want
You to be
You will be known by all
But not as your
True self
Everyone will
Want to be
The person your
Pretending to be
If you don’t go through
You will keep your
Identity
You will be able to be yourself
And have fun
All at once
You are not hanging
Out with the “cool” kids
And you are not known
By everyone
So the question is
Stay true to yourself?
Or have the popularity
You always wanted.
Yoni
A path is a choice
A choice is a decision
To open a door
Accepting the faces
Of opportunity
And responsibility
To focus
To learn
To trust
Having faith in time
A past condemns no man
A future holds no certainty
Decisions, decisions
Present makes the choice
To peer upon the light or darkness
Feared or embraced
Open or shut
It is always there
Waiting
