Tuition Assistance

One of the stumbling blocks that families face in deciding whether to proceed with an application to Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy is finances. We are making it easier than ever for families with a wide range of incomes to afford a stellar Barrack education.

For the 2009-2010 school year, over 44% of our students received substantial financial support from all of our financial aid resources. Barrack Hebrew Academy designates 11.5% of its operating budget for tuition aid. We were able to help more families provide their children with the many benefits of a Barrack education. Families with incomes of $20,000 to over $2000,000 annually are receiving aid this year from different funds, depending on individual family circumstances

These funds include:

  • The Barrack Foundation Gift: Funds for students new to Barrack Hebrew Academy.
  • The Abramson Foundation Gift: Funds for students new to Barrack Hebrew Academy.
  • Jewish Community Worker Fund: Funds established solely for children whose parents work in the Jewish community.
  • Rabbi Scholar's Fund: $5,000 merit-based scholarship renewable for $3,600 yearly.

Tuition aid distributed in 2009-2010 is as follows: $1,640,260 dollars were distributed to 138 students who represent 44% of the Barrack student population. The average award was $11,885 or 51% of the total school tuition.
