Dear Parents:
We know that for many families the decision to request tuition assistance is not an easy one. We invite you to consider the school and the Philadelphia Jewish community as your partners in ensuring your child(ren)’s Jewish education.
To assist families, funds have been specifically designated for tuition assistance. If you wish to be considered for tuition assistance for the 2013-14 school year, please download the application and submit it with all requested documentation by February 20, 2013. Those families submitting complete applications by this deadline will be notified of their tuition assistance awards by mid-March. Monies are not guaranteed after the due date so please make every effort to submit your packet in a timely manner.
In addition to our own scholarship funds, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia has formed the Foundation for Jewish Day Schools, through which it distributes funds from Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit programs. Families with incomes between less than $100,000 may be eligible for these funds in addition to those from Barrack. If you think you may qualify, please contact Jennifer Groen at jgroen@jbha.org, 610-922-2350 or Marian Cohen at mcohen@jbha.org, 610-922-2340 and download the EITC-OSTC application.
The tuition assistance application process is conducted with strict confidentiality. If you have any questions about tuition assistance or the enclosed application, please contact Jennifer Groen or Marian Cohen at the contact information above.
Sincerely,
Sharon P. Levin
