Barrack Hebrew Academy, the only pluralistic Jewish day school in the tri-state area, provides a dynamic dual curriculum of college preparatory and Jewish studies for coeducational students in grades 6 through 12. Barrack welcomes students and families from every spectrum of Jewish observance and life. Our student body includes students from public schools, secular independent schools, and Jewish day schools who belong to over 57 diverse synagogue congregations. An experienced caring faculty inspires students to achieve their personal best both in the classroom and on the playing field. Barrack is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.

Barrack students traditionally score in the top tier of SAT and Advanced Placement tests, and 25% of the Class of 2009 was recognized by the National Merit Scholars Program. A Barrack education is highly regarded in the college community both in the United States and Israel; our seniors enjoy a 100% college acceptance record. Barrack students benefit from a strong college counseling program and are accepted to colleges and universities that best suit their interests and needs, including prestigious Ivy League schools.

Students enjoy many advantages in a small school. Faculty members have the opportunity to know and appreciate the individual talents and interests of students, inspiring them to achieve their personal best. At Barrack, our students also have a greater opportunity to take on leadership roles, join sports teams, and participate in an award-winning drama program and in an array of other extracurricular activities. Each student is respected and valued, and in turn learns to respect and value his or her fellow students. Friendships are formed that last a lifetime. Students graduate from Barrack confident in their identity, abilities, and readiness to succeed in college and beyond. Our alumni go on to contribute to all aspects of society at home and around the world.

Barrack's 35-acre campus features five all-weather tennis courts, an artificial turf soccer field, and a new gymnasium with a regulation size basketball court. These new facilities provide a "home court advantage" for our students and expand sports opportunities for both Middle and Upper School athletes. Barrack fields teams in baseball, basketball, cross county, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, and track and field. Many teams repeatedly capture championship titles and individual athletes are named all-stars. The lessons our students learn on the field as team members and individual competitors translate into life lessons and are another important facet of a Barrack education.

Over 20% of our students come from a non-Jewish day school background and are successfully integrated into our school. Your child will take general studies classes with his or her grade-level peers. Hebrew is taught on all levels and students are placed in homogeneous Hebrew classes based on abilities to speak and write Hebrew. Socially, Barrack students and families are part of a warm and inclusive community that is quick to welcome new members.

Barrack Hebrew Academy is a pluralistic community. Diversity is our strength. Our students and families represent every spectrum of Jewish observance and life. While religious practices widely vary among our student body, our administration, faculty and students welcome and respect each other's levels of observance and practices.

Barrack students are part of an active and vibrant community and have many opportunities to work, celebrate and bond together with both grade-level as well as younger and older students. They participate in Chesed programs, Shabbatonim, sports, student government, and a host of extracurricular activities; organize and implement Jewish holidays, Israel celebrations and Human Rights conferences; and in 11th grade have the opportunity to study together for a trimester in Israel. Friendships forged at Barrack carry into and throughout adulthood. In fact, many of our alumni have found their spouses at Barrack Hebrew Academy.
