Jewish Ethics 11-3
B’ruchim Habaim! This semester’s Jewish Studies curriculum will focus on the study of Jewish Ethics. Through our study of traditional Jewish sources, we will look at the foundation of Jewish ethics, how we determine rules of morality, and the processes by which Jews make ethical decisions. We’ll look at how these processes differ among the various movements of Judaism, and how they are applied in a variety of situations. However this course is much more than a theoretical exercise – through journaling we will grapple with our own ethics, and challenge ourselves as we strive to grow as moral Jews and human beings.
This course is divided into three specific units: Unit I: The Foundation of Jewish Ethics, Unit II: Homosexuality: Jewish Views and Information, and Unit III: The Sanctity of Life and Jewish Bio-ethics.
