You’ll need your covered textbook, Planner, pencil and notebook for class every day, unless I specifically say otherwise. It is expected that you will take detailed noted during every class. You will need graph paper on a regular basis.

The student is responsible for all work missed because of absence. This means contacting classmates, checking the class web page, or e-mailing me to get assignments, and meeting with me to arrange to make up work that was missed. In the case of known or planned absence, lateness or early dismissal, all tests, quizzes and homework must be completed and turned in ahead of time.

Homework

Homework will normally be assigned every day, except on certain holidays as specified by the school. Homework and class notes should be in pencil.

You are expected to do all of your homework. I will check homework every day, and will collect it regularly. Several students may be asked to do homework problems on the board every day. Three or more incomplete homework assignments will result in an e-mail or call home.

The work shown in homework must be yours alone.

Quizzes and Tests

We will have quizzes after every 2-3 sections. Unannounced quizzes are rare but they do happen. There will 1 or 2 tests on each chapter. Tests must be taken in pencil.

Class Behavior

 I expect everyone in class to treat me and all of their fellow students with respect. This means

1.              Arrive on time, sit down and get ready to begin work

2.              Raise your hand if you want to speak

3.              No talking when another student or I am talking.

No eating or chewing gum in class, Water bottles are the only drinks permitted.

Consequences for inappropriate behavior are listed in the Handbook.

Grading

Homework assignments will be worth 50 points per quarter, quizzes will be worth 10-30 points, and tests will be worth 100 points. One extra credit assignment per semester will be assigned.

Extra Help

I am usually available at breaks and lunch periods. After the club schedule is set I will give more specifics. Extra help may be required if quiz and test grades are poor.
