Tanakh 11-3

This second semester course in Tanakh will cover the major books of the last section of Tanakh, Ketuvim, including the books of Esther, Tehilim, Shir ha-Shirim, Mishlei, Kohelet, and Iyov. Through the study of specific selections from these books, we will gain a feel for the character of each book and for the overall characteristics of the Wisdom Literature, which differentiates Ketuvim from the earlier section of the Nevi’im. In addition, we will concentrate on some of the timeless themes in these books which have influenced our decision-making and outlook both as individuals and as a nation, throughout the centuries.
