"My son's advisor has helped him navigate a new school and better understand how to work with a new group of teachers."

Advisory Program

Helping students achieve their personal best is the major goal of Barrack Hebrew Academy's Advisory program. From the time students enter our school to the time that they graduate, Barrack Hebrew Academy's team of caring, involved guidance professionals, teachers, and administrators are available and eager to help our students realize their full potential -- both in and out of the classroom. We have created a network of support to help assure that every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Our weekly Advisory program groups five to six students from grades six through twelve with a faculty member or administrator who serves as the students' advisor thoughout their Barrack Hebrew Academy years. The advisor is first and foremost a listener, someone with whom the student can develop a trusting relationship, as well as a student advocate.

The goals of the Advisory programs include:

  •    To provide each Barrack Hebrew Academy student with an adult sounding board and advocate
  •    To create a multi-grade support network
  •    To offer a forum for discussion of issues related to student life at Barrack Hebrew Academy
