Chag Sameach! Welcome to a wonderful year of conversing in Hebrew.We are off to a wonderful beginning.
Homework Due Monday October 1st:
Choose one of the five topics on page 31 of the "Tzedakah and it's Reward" story packet, and write a paragraph in response to your topic. (in Hebrew)
1. If Noah wrote a letter to his family ,when he was in another land, what would he write in the letter .Write the letter.
2. Continue the story and write about the meeting between Noah and his family.
3. Noah got a lot of gold and silver. Noah wanted to give a lot of money to Tzedakah, Explain to Noah how it's possible to give a lot of money to Tzedakah and not be poor.
4.Tell your friend another story on Tzedakah and it's merit.
5. Explain the saying : "Tzedakah can save you from death".
1st Quarter Test: November 13th and 14th
Welcome back to a full week of school. Presently we are studying Masculine and Feminine Cardinal numbers.
Homework for Wednesday October 10th: Complete the practice quiz on numbers 1-12.
Quiz on Weather related words: Friday October 12th.
Week of 10/22
We have begun a conversational unit on Food and eating out in restaurants. Students are very excited about this unit.
Week of 10/29
We are working in pairs/groups in order to create our own Food related dialogues. This project will be worth a test grade.
Welcome to the 2nd quarter
We are reading a Chanukah story centered around the holiness of the oil.
Homework Due Monday 11/26- Answer the questions following the Hanukah story.
Homework due Friday 11/30- finish answering questions 10- 13 in the Hanukah packet.
Happy Hanukah- We just completed our Hanukah story unit and had a quiz. We will begin a new conversational unit next week. Shabbat Shalom!
Quarter test: 1/23/ 08 "B" day
Week of January 14th:
Currently we are reading a story called "The lonely Oak".The story relates to the upcoming holiday of Tu Bishvat. On "D" day 1/16 students will act out their dialogues ,centered around visits to the doctor.
Welcome to the Third Quarter
We are presently studying a dialogue "At the Employment Agency". Students seem to enjoy the topic's relevance to their own lives. We conversed recently (in Hebrew) about which students have part time jobs.
Homework due Friday 2/1/08: Write 6 sentences with the vocabulary from part one of the dialogue.
Homework due Monday 2/12 "F" day
Write five sentences from the "Piel" packet. Shabbat Shalom.
Week of February 19th:
Quiz on Piel past and present Wednesday 2/20/08 "E"' day.
Week of February 25th:
Quiz on the vocabulary and content of "At the Employment Agency": Wedneday 2/27 "D" day.
Week of March 3rd
We recently began studying texts which deal with Purim. We will have the opprtunity to deal with traditional as well as modern texts. Shabbat Shalom.
Week of March 10th:
HW due 3/10: Read the Chassidic story handout.
Week of March 17th:
We began studying a new dialogue entitled " A Weekend in Tel Aviv".
Homework due 3/19/08. Write 6 sentences with the new ayin-vav, ayin yud verbs.In addition complete the top exercise on page 13 of the packet.

We are currently studying a dialogue dealing with the weather.
Homework due 4/9/08- Write 7 sentences with the new vocabulary that we underlined in class today

We completed the story on Yom Yerushalayim. The work packet is due Monday June 2nd.
The Hebrew Final will be on Friday June 13th.
